I am running a fully automatic station using Satsked. shuttd@arco.com ------------------------------ Date: 13 Oct 1994 12:35:55 GMT From: rparsons@tcet.unt.edu (Ron Parsons) Subject: Doppler problems in WinTrak 2.0 I have been using WinTrak 2.0 but have problems with its Doppler calculations. The author says there are no problems with it, BUT the Doppler values calculated by InstantTrack, WiSP, OrbiTrack, SatTrak all agree with each other (within a few Hertz) but disagree with WinTrak. WinTrak often gives Doppler values with the wrong sign. Has anyone else using this puppy? I use a Kansas City Tracker Tuner card to run things at the shack so I asked if he supported that card. He said not only did he not support it but the KCT people were out of business. This is news to L.L. Grace they think they are still in business. Agreed there are some newer way to run your AZ/EL rotors I think KCT must still be the most prolific system right now. He mostly supports some parallel port box ( can't remember which). Seems to me this guy is not a player in the satellite game, a view supported by your experience. Enough pontificating what are you to do? Call AMSAT at 301-589-6062 they have a large selection of software all of which WORKS get WISP if you want to use windows and forget WinTrak as I have. ------------------------------ Date: 12 Oct 1994 13:34:40 GMT From: dt650@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (David J. Does anybody want me to continue to upload them here? And if so, is there any way to restrict distribution to North America? Dave, N9LTD ------------------------------ Date: 13 Oct 94 15:53:02 GMT From: ROBERTSM@JSC.MIL Subject: TNC/Modem for PACSATS Just getting into the digital satellite world. Wonder what modem/TNC is being used by the community to receive telemetry and operate through the PACSATS and other digital birds? Are many of you using the AEA products (PK232, PK-96, PK900, or the DSP series)? How easy is your terminal to use? What software is usable? Object 22828 appears to be the "real" KO-25. It appears the KO-25 was originally pegged as 22830 but 22828 now tracks KO-25 much better. GRO is the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory. ------------------------------ End of Ham-Space Digest V94 #290 ******************************
